This version was inspired by a friend who preferred white sauce over red. I swapped in Alfredo sauce and used sausage and pepperoni instead of shrimp. The result is rich, cheesy, and very satisfying — a great alternative for anyone who prefers a creamy pizza base.

This pizza casserole is straightforward to make. Start with one can of refrigerated biscuits and cut each biscuit into bite-sized pieces. Toss the biscuit pieces with Alfredo sauce, then mix in half of the shredded mozzarella and your chosen toppings. Spread the mixture evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Bake until the biscuits are cooked through and the top is golden and bubbly.

Be sure to spread the biscuit pieces evenly in the pan before baking. If the pieces stay clumped together they may not bake evenly; gently move them so they form a single layer with small gaps. This helps them cook through and gives the casserole a pleasant, pull-apart texture.

This White Bubble Up Pizza is versatile. I’ve made it with spinach, cooked chicken, and sliced mushrooms; you can use any combination of toppings your family prefers. Popular choices include sausage, pepperoni, ham, peppers, onions, spinach, and cooked chicken. Because the base is Alfredo, it pairs especially well with milder, creamy-flavored toppings like spinach and chicken, but classic pizza meats and vegetables work beautifully too.

We usually serve this casserole with a simple green salad and some breadsticks or garlic bread. The salad balances the richness of the Alfredo and makes a complete, family-friendly meal. Leftovers reheat well and remain tasty for a day or two, making this a good option for busy weeknights or a casual weekend dinner.

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray a 9×13-inch pan with cooking spray.
  2. Cut each biscuit into roughly 6 pieces and place the pieces in a medium mixing bowl.
  3. Pour the Alfredo sauce over the biscuit pieces and toss gently to coat. Add your chosen pizza toppings and half of the shredded mozzarella, then toss until everything is evenly mixed.
  4. Transfer the biscuit mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella over the top.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the biscuits are cooked through, the cheese is melted, and the top is golden. Remove from oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

I used a can of large refrigerated biscuits (such as Grands!). Any brand will work.

Feel free to customize toppings: spinach, cooked chicken, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, sausage, pepperoni, or ham are all great options.

Make sure to spread biscuit pieces evenly in the baking dish so they cook uniformly. If needed, move the pieces slightly before baking to prevent clumps.
