The Star of the Show: Coffee Cubes
If you haven’t tried freezing coffee into ice cubes, it’s a small change that makes a big difference. Coffee cubes:
- Add full coffee flavor with every sip.
- Keep your drink properly chilled.
- Prevent dilution the way water ice does.
- Are easy and enjoyable to prepare.

How to Make Coffee Cubes
Making coffee cubes is straightforward, but follow a few simple guidelines for best results:
- Use cooled coffee. Don’t pour boiling coffee into trays; let it reach room temperature first to avoid any risk from hot plastic and to ensure even freezing.
- Measure if you like consistency. About 12 oz of brewed coffee fills a standard ice cube tray, but any tray size works—just note how much you poured so you can estimate cube counts.
- Sweeten before freezing or later. You can sweeten the coffee before freezing or add sweetener to the finished drink. If freezing sweetened coffee, slightly over-sweeten because the flavor softens when diluted by milk.
How to Make The Best Keto Iced Coffee
After your coffee cubes are frozen, place the number of cubes you want into a glass.

Pour in about 1 1/4 cups unsweetened nut milk (almond or coconut from a carton work especially well) and add about 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream. Taste and add a keto-friendly sweetener if desired. Stir or shake to combine and let the coffee cubes slowly melt to infuse the drink.

How to Enjoy Your Keto Iced Coffee
When you first pour the milk and cream, the drink will be milky and the coffee flavor subtle. Give the coffee cubes time to melt so the flavor develops. Stir or shake occasionally and sip slowly—this iced coffee rewards a relaxed pace.
