Win-Win Solutions: How Both Sides Come Out Ahead

In August I won the first Iron Cupcake Challenge with my Fire & Ice Cupcake recipe. I know your votes helped make that happen—thank you! To pay it forward, I decided to share some of the prizes I received. Below is a recap of what I won and how you could win one of these items.

The first prize I received was The Taste of Home Cookbook. It’s a fantastic collection with over 1,000 recipes submitted by home cooks, complete with nutritional information, tips and helpful techniques. I’m keeping this one, but you can enter to win your own copy in another giveaway running through October 26th.

Next, I received an adorable Jessie Steele cupcake apron trimmed in pink with little bows. I already owned a similar apron, so I decided to include this one in the giveaway. It’s perfect for baking in style.

The third prize was a copy of Hello, Cupcake!, signed by the authors. Since I already own the book, I’m giving my signed copy away. If you love creative cupcake ideas, you’ll enjoy this book.

I also received a small painting from Cakespy, which I decided to keep. It’s a charming piece, and Cakespy can create custom artwork if you’re interested.

Another prize was a set of Fiesta Head Chefs. They’re delightful little figures with suction-cup feet so they can stand upright. I loved them, so I kept this set.

The last prize was a Cupcake Courier, a stackable carrier that holds 36 cupcakes—perfect for transporting treats to parties. I was thrilled to have won one.

Surprisingly, the Cupcake Courier company accidentally sent two couriers in the package. When I opened the box there were two! For a moment I thought about keeping both, but then I contacted Iron Cupcake and the company, and they kindly allowed me to keep the extra unit. That extra Cupcake Courier became part of the giveaway.

The best part is you don’t have to bake anything to enter. Here’s how the giveaway worked:

Three prizes. Three winners. Three days.

To enter, leave a comment on the original post and list the prizes in order of your preference. I’ll do my best to accommodate preferences, but there’s no guarantee. Be sure to include your email address in the comment or a link to your blog so I can contact you if you win. The cutoff to enter was Wednesday, October 15th at midnight. (GIVEAWAY IS NOW OVER.) The three winners were chosen at random and announced on the blog the following day.

  • Jessie Steele Cupcake Apron
  • Hello, Cupcake! Book
  • Cupcake Courier

The winners were selected at random using an integer generator.

And the winning numbers from the random draw were announced as follows:

Comment #52 gets first choice:
That’s walkingkateastrophe! You won the Jessie Steele apron.

Up next is comment #2094:
Leah Lingersoll won her first choice and received the Hello, Cupcake! book.

The third and final winner is comment #1121:

Thank you to everyone who entered. I had a great time organizing this giveaway and hope the next one is just as fun.
